We amplify voices in our community through the arts.

By collaborating with diverse people and ideas, participants develop an understanding of self and other, making choices that connect us rather than divide us. Participants are empowered to live their authentic lives, feeling seen, feeling heard.

Art Supply Drive for The Hero’s Journaling Project

This in-school program begins in a few weeks and amplifies youth voices of emerging bilingual students at Glenwood Springs Middle School. Through collage, painting, map-drawing, self-portraits and more, students craft and express personal stories of transformation. Help provide art supplies to 37 new-comer students who will be working with VOICES’ teaching artist Gabriela Mejia and VOICES' classroom teacher partner Lucia Campbell to express their immigration stories through art and writing. Suggested donations of $25 or more are welcome.

VOICES Radio Hour On KDNK | 2nd Friday of the Month, 6-7pm!

March’s episode, created in collaboration with Circa 71 Productions, is very special. We sat down with three Venezuelan newcomers for a conversation from the heart as a way to get to know their personalities, their tastes, music, and culture.  The conversations were recorded in Spanish and translated into English. The voices featured are Argenis Marquez, Benigno José Ricardo, and Ricardo Urbina. Also featured are the voices of interviewer, Angélica Breña, as well as English interpretation by Julian Nihill, Omar Sarabia, and Lucas De Cesco.

To listen, tune into KDNK at 88.1 FM Carbondale this Friday, March 8 from 6-7pm.
